Summer Sweetness
A dessert & rediscovering an old hobby
New hobby alert! I used to be a baker, it was one of my absolute favorite hobbies. I loved to spend hours baking, trying new recipes. I loved the art of it, it was my favorite stress reliever. I think I just love doing stuff with my hands. And there’s something so fulfilling when making sweets that make people happy! It’s been a while, but I find it so satisfying to make things that people enjoy. I see more baking in my future. Thanks to Instagram, I saw this three-ingredient dessert and thought I’d make it for my parents.
It took all of 2 minutes to assemble. All you need are mixed berries, I grabbed the ones with cherries because I feel like cherries are one of the world greatest summer gifts to us (aside from watermelon) and some gluten free sugar cookies. (The recipe calls for Sweet Loren’s Sugar cookies and a normal berry blend sans the cherries.)
Nine minutes later, these babes were done! And I do have to share how satisfying it was to make something so quickly, that people really enjoyed. I fulfilled my need for being in the kitchen despite being tired after a long day being out and about!
I added almond milk, vanilla ice cream for them. The verdict was that it was delicious! (Yes, they both used the word delicious unprompted. Victory is mine!) I can’t wait to make it for others.
So if you are ever in a pinch and want to impress loved ones in under ten mins, there’s your trick.
Now, recurring baking newsletters are not in my plans, but I do talk about my hobbies, so you may see more of these this summer. Let me know what you think if you try it!
